Our Favorite! 3/5/2009

I hate to grocery shop, but I love to shop at Adams. Everything is top rate...food, selection, specialty items and staff! Family, kid and elder friendly. My son even found clotted cream, which he missed from his time living in London. Family night is Wednesday...10% off your bill. Bring your own bags for more discount. more

not to be missed! 12/24/2006

If you're anywhere near Newburgh, this is a definite stop you should make. Main reason - excellent natural food section. You could easily spend an hour browsing just the fresh produce! Everything seems to be grown locally, great quality food, and reasonable prices. Maybe a bit more than the supermarket, but worth it for the quality. They also have a frozen food and dried produce area, and an excellent selection of natural, whole grain foods. Another side to Adams is the greenery area - a plethora of plant potters, irrigation, etc, and an awesome selection of seeds if you like to grow your own. Also, inside, a gift store (don't go in if perfumey smells drive you crazy) where you're certain to find a pleasant gift for someone, and, not to be missed - the CANDY section, ohmygosh, don't go here if you're on a diet, it's just too tempting!! more

Nice diversion from grocery shopping 5/26/2006

Adams Fairacre Farms is a winner all the way around. I've shopped here since the store, on Route 300 at the intersection of 17K, opened several years back. However, I'd never entered their gift section. It turns out the gift shop at Adams is a great place for birthday gifts, housewarming gifts, and items for yourself. They have a lot of crafty items that make good gifts for your girlfriends. The prices are not exactly cheap but not any more expensive than any other local gift shop such as Jones Farm. more

I could get lost in Adams! 4/11/2006

When I say I could get lost in Adams, it's a good thing, trust me. When you enter the store, you're practically intoxicated by the fresh produce. Even in the dead of winter when other grocery stores have next to nothing, the fruits and veggies at Adams look delicious. Add to that their assortment of gourmet grocery items that are hard to find elsewhere, and you have a winner. Events such as Adams' now annual garden show have established this store in Newburgh...you used to have to go to Poughkeepsie to buy at Adams. I'm always happy to shop here. Their slightly higher prices are worth it. more

Terrific produce and a good greenhouse 4/8/2006

My friend kept referring to Adam's as a "gourmet" grocery store. I laughed, but it's true. They have very fresh, flavorful local produce, good quality meats, and brands that you normally find in health food stores. The greenhouse has a good selection for grocery store, and they have little kids' shopping carts, which my preschooler loves. It's 30 minutes away, or I'd go all the time. http://www.adamsfarms.com/ more

Upscale Market in the Burbs 12/15/2005

Adams is an experience. On a recent visit during a pre-holiday weekend, there were carolers in the aisles, horse drawn carriages in the parking lot taking folks on rides and of course, a big fat guy in a red suit who was laughing while having his picture taken! Guess who that might be? Adams is an upscale market with produce, bakery, deli, meats, fish market, candy store and nursery all under one large roof. This place isn't a grocery store as it stocks a limited number of grocery staples. However, this is the place to come for the freshest fruits & veggies, top grade meats and fish and an unparalleled selection of cheese, breads and deli items. There is an abundance of ready to heat & eat foods that are packed and ready to go home. Great salad bar chock full of greens, veggies, cheeses and delectable croutons. Fresh baked breads, cookies, pies and other delights are just waiting to enter your shopping basket. Treat yourself to a specialty coffee while you leisurely shop and help yourself to samples in the aisles. You can also buy nursery items here like plants, pots and flowers, Christmas trees and weaths and home/garden accessories. A welcome treat from the supermarket. more

Great Fruits, Vegetables and Lots of Other Things 7/13/2005

If you're in the market for quality fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and seafood, delicious bakery items and a superior delicatessan, Adam's is the place for you. It offers a wide range of products, many of which are not offered in other stores. The prices are compeitive with supermarkets and different items are placed on sale each week. There is also a nursery for gardening needs and products. The staff is cooperative and friendly. A great place to shop. more
