Lovely intimate dining 1/3/2012

I LOVE this place. Small, intimate, and quiet enough to allow for conversations in a speaking tone of voice. Claudio is charming, waiters are knowledgeable, food is very good, wine list is decent and prices are very reasonable. Anyone who complains about slow service doesn't appreciate the Italian style of dining. You're SUPPOSED to spend several hours in this dining experience. In a hurry- go to a drive through. more

Disappointing experience at Adagio 6/12/2011

We went to Adagio for a birthday celebration based on recommendations on yelp. We had a VERY disappointing experience! The experience seemed promising at the beginning when we were served free appetizers of fried potatoes and mushroom canape. It was all downhill from there. One member of our party ordered chicken picatta which came bone dry. We called over the owner who disagreed with us. He offered to bring a replacement (he wouldn't bring another chicken dish out even though that was what was requested) however his attitude was condesending. Several of us ordered a seafood pasta dish which was to include lobster, scallops and shrimp. The lobster was microscopic and the scallops were the smallest we've ever seen. Service was poor requiring us to call over wait and bus staff to refill waters. more

Old World 5/7/2011

Place is young, hip, & cool. As in: YOUNG - if you're 80. The main clientelle all qualify for AARP discounts. HIP - most of the other customers have had at least one of these replaced. COOL - my excitement level concerning the food. This is the place that your Grandma always wants to go to. The food is mediocre, and the menu, while large, all tastes about the same (tasteless). Stick to this one for Mother's day only. more

Best food (and best deal for excellent food) in the valley! 8/9/2008

I live out of state and never miss going to adagio when I am in town. The food is always exceptional; service is out of this world. The osso buco is to die for, the white fish is the best fish in the valley, and you?ll fantasize about the risotto. Caesars made at the table are outstanding. Go twice and the owner Claudio will remember you forever. Pay special attention to their specials as they live up to their name. They even get a kid-friendly nod. For the past decade they have been making custom dinners for our sometimes picky kids. Pros: quality of food and service more

Great Local Italian Restaurant! 11/20/2007

This is the type of restaurant where you go and always see a neighbor. The staff always addresses you by first name when they greet you and remembers your favorite dish! It's a low key atomsphere and the food is always good! more

I LOVE ADAGIO! 8/9/2007

It just doesn't get any better than this charming Italian restaurant on Ventura. You really wouldn't even notice it driving by but once you go in, you are sure to never forget it (in a good way). I have gone there a bunch of times now and have always been perfectly satisfied. Adagio is definitely the best kept secret gem of a restaurant in the SF Valley. Pros: Food, service, management, consistency more

The Best in the World! 5/13/2006

This is absolutely the best Italian restaurant in the world. I have traveled all over Italy and missed Adagio's while I was there. The service is inpeccable, the food is MOUTHWATERING, and the staff makes you feel like home. I rate this restaurant a perfect 10. Pros: delicious, excellent service more

best italian food I've ever eaten 5/2/2005

Not only the best italian food, the best food period. the overall rating shown for this restaurant is a sham. I would honestly not rate any restaurant higher. Pros: Service, Food, Authenticity Cons: Absolutely none more
