awesome massage 10/7/2005

I came here because of a recommendation from my friend. They have a great swedish massage where and facial treatment package that's well worth the price. The hour long massage really does wonders. I was hurting the day afterwards and had to take it off to recover from it. The prices were reasonable compared to other day spas. I'd come check it out. more

Great place for decorative manicures 8/17/2005

Acqua Beauty Bar is located on 14th Street in the Union Square area. It's on a busy block so it's easy to overlook it. They offer facials, salt scrubs and massages but their specialty turns out to be nails. They specialize in manicures and pedicures and for an additional charge will add a design or a jewel (like a rhinestone) to your nails. While nail art might not be for everyone, it could be a fun thing to do on a girls' night out like during a bachelorette party. This is a decent salon for other services but the place to go for nails. more

Not such a great spa experience..... 8/11/2005

A friend and I went in for a "journey" and neither of us were particularly impressed with anything at this spa "haven" that i had previously heard so much about. Wile a few of the aestheticians were sweet, some of them were downright rude and none of them told us their names, (which made figuring out the tip envelopes a little awkward. On another separate occasion, we held a friend's bachlorette "spa day" - think again ladies!! The customer service at this venue has a bit to be desired. They are not terribly accomodating and considering the number of options of spas in the city and the prices that they were charging...they could at the very least be a bit more pleasant In the field of NYC spas, I dont think we have to settle for mediocrity and indifference on our pampering days! more
