if you are a tourist or convention attendee, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BOOKING WITH THIS "HOTEL"! this place was advertised on the internet on sites with listings of tourist hotels. a friend and i booked a room for a conference we were attending. when we arrived, the lobby was full of people who were obviously homeless, and it quickly became clear that this was really a weekly residence hotel renting to some of baltimore's less fortunate citizens (there is info on the internet to back this up--just try googling this place's name). now, i have stayed in many hotels and motels in the u.s., and some of them were cheap dives that i stayed in happily and slept in soundly--i am not some finicky person who only accepts five star accommodations. but _this_ place really takes the cake. the woman who took us to "our" room kicked someone out of it and "cleaned" it right in front of us. citysearch rules prevent me from detailing what we saw. it wouldn't have been so bad if, when we decided we couldn't stay there and asked for our money back, we would have received a refund. however, the manager came out and told us we couldn't have our money back, even though we hadn't even spent a moment in the room other than to go in and put down our bags. we left anyway, poorer but much wiser, and went up the street to a real hotel. i would recommend that you spend a bit more and stay somewhere else, unless you enjoy walking on the wild side in terms of your hotel accommodations!
Pros: cheapest hotel we found in the waterfront area.
Cons: not a tourist hotel, but a weekly residence hotel for the poor.
