This shop can fix anything that rolls! 9/24/2008

Although not a mechanic, I chased ALL of the parts for my 1963 Falcon and Austin Automobile Clinic restored it ,with some help from North Austin Jobbers (Quality Engine Exchange, Austin Drivetrain, Royal Muffler, and Austin Brake and Clutch. My girlfriend's 1993 BMW needed a replacement split driveshaft, along with custom linkage, since a later year transmission was installed in the car.AA clinic came through with a clean used split driveshaft and modified the linkage so that the car shifted properly.Best of all, they did not charge her BMW prices and she is VERY happy with the work. These guys also do frame straightening and all sorts of custom metalwork, including Arc, Mig and Oxyacetylene welding. AA Clinic is the CLOSEST you will find to the family owned and operated , all models repaired, shops of yesteryear.Sad that the dealerships have pretty much taken over the trade. Pros: Quick service, reasonable prices, quality work. more

What a Rip Off! Avoid like Plague! 4/24/2008

The only reason why it is even getting two stars is because it was quick. Other then that, don't go there! They totally ripped me off. \r \r I brought my truck in which was having electrical problems in the ignition and would not start. I asked them to call me before doing any work. They gave me this speal like all the work was finding the cause and that they would just have to fix it on the spot, since after they find it then fixing it is very little work.\r \r They fixed it all right, but they charged me $350 for what was at maximum a couple hours labor. This was after the owner promised me a good price. Instead he totally screwed me. The only thing that was wrong was a short, and no parts were involved. At most I would expect $200 for this and even that is high. The fact that they tricked me into saying they could go ahead and fix it and then turned arounnd and screwed me tells me that this mechanic/owner is not honest. I would not trust them with any of your repairs. Instead try Precision Tune on Braker and Burnet. I wish I had gone there, but I saw electrical repair on Austin Automotive clinic's sign which is what prompted me to try them. Big Mistake! Pros: Quick Cons: Was a rip off. more
