GREAT PLACE!! 4/19/2011

The therapists here are so knowledgeable and friendly. I will agree that they had some issues when they first did their Living Social deal, but now that it has calmed down and they have cut back their therapists to the REALLY good ones I recommend everyone go try this place. All their therapists are graduates of UCMT which is a highly regarded massage school. They are under new management and the place has warmed up quite a lot physically and metaphorically as well. I would highly recommend that anyone who went and had a bad experience go and try them again. They have changed their name to Massage Soleil and now offer a range of aesthetic services. I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2/19/2011

I purchased a package from Living Socials for a 60 minute facial, 90 minute massage and a 30 minute foot masque. Well, it was not as advertised! I was taken into my first treatment (the facial) 20 minutes late AFTER asking if my treatment time(s) would be penalized for the Spa's tardiness. "No, no! Not at all!" I was assured I would be receiving my full treatment times. I was then moved down the hall to another room for my foot masque and massage. I had a less than experienced massage therapist whose technique was something to be desired. IE: dragging her elbow down my spine, not warming up the muscle tissue before she executed deep tissue techniques, no effleurage finishing strokes to the heart to push toxins through the system, etc. I got off the massage table to realize the therapist had cut my massage time by 10 minutes. When I inquired with the manager and therapist as to why this occurred, I got the "deer in the headlights" stare from both of them. Nice.......... more

worst massage I've ever had 7/17/2010

When I called to make the appointment, I told the girl on the phone I wanted a relaxing swedish massage with light pressure. They apparently gave my appointment to a therapist who told me that she only does injury massage, meaning that her work was very deep and very specific. Throughout the massage I told her repeatedly the pressure was too deep, but she didn't adjust her regular routine. It sort of felt like I was being stabbed through the entire hour, and she nicked a lot of bone (spine, shoulderblade, ribs) with her sharp fingertips. Aside from that, they had the air conditioning turned on through the entire hour and it was completely frigid in the room. When the massage was over, I went back into the reception area and the girl sitting at the desk ignored me completely. She didn't ask me how it was, if I wanted water, or assist me with payment. She just read the book in her lap. The entire experience was unprofessional and discourteous. Pros: The rooms were decorated nicely Cons: Unprofessional staff, poor massage, room was freezing more

Massage Ok - stay away from the hot rock 2/3/2009

My husband keeps getting me gift certificates to this place so I've been a few times (I think it's just convenient for him and he doesn't necessarily know I haven't had the best experience). I've had certificates for 3 hot rock massages. The first one the masseur admitted that this was the first time she'd ever done it. She just randomly put rocks down. Some too hot, some not hot enough. The second time I went, I thought I'd give it another shot with another massage therapist. Same thing. No idea what to do with the rocks or how to regulate their temperature. It ended up both times with more time spent messing around with the rocks and very little massage. On the third certificate I just asked for a regular massage instead and used the price difference as the tip. Now I should say that outside of the rock experience I have had 2 regular massages. The first being ok, the second better. I would go to the second one again but it seems like there are always different massage therapists rotating through there. We'll see if she sticks around... I'm advising my husband to try somewhere else! Pros: Nice staff, atmosphere is quiet Cons: hot rock massage, a little cold inside in winter more
