A-1 Dry Cleaners

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CLOTHING HERE. Called to see if they specialized in wedding dress cleaning and ""Ronak"" indicated they did. Upon leaving dress he indicated I may leave garment bag and he'd place dress back in it once cleaned. Stated $99 to dry clean dress. Called a week later for pick up and once there, the other attendant gave dress without garment bag and charged $124.25 which exceed the amount for tax. It's not a matter of the price, it was the principle that when it came for payment they charge for \r ""additional fees."" Why not disclose that upon garment drop off? The dress was damaged after inspecting it once I arrived home. The padding in the chest area was lumped together and this only occurs when placed in a machine. I was unable to fix it and was forced to take it to a tailor to unsew the lining to extend the lumped padding. YOU CANNOT LIE TO CUSTOMERS SAYING THAT YOU SPECIALIZE IN WEDDING DRESSES WHEN YOU CLEARLY DON'T. I wouldn't have left the dress there had they said otherwise. Go elsewhere for your dry cleaning needs. Shady business practices. more

The most rude and terrible service!!!!! This I believe has been ingrained from the Manager and is slowly trickling to the lower level employees. Upon dropping off my clothes the cashier explained that they would call to give me the total price of my items before proceeding with any work. This I found to be awfully strange; which dry cleaners don't know how much they charge to dry clean or iron garments??? Especially one that has been in business as long as this one has?? Mind you, my clothes weren't a wedding dress or a ball room gown. Just simple dresses (no rhinestones or extreme detailing), a work suit and a male pants. The cashier appeared to be totally clueless yet he promised the very next day I would be called because they weren't proceed without my approval. The day passed and I received no phone call, so my assumption was they never started working my clothes. When I called explaining this situation, the Manager was extremely hostile and supported the fact that they don't have to call. No apologies, no reasoning or trying to understand, just blatant rudeness on the part of the Manager. This is unacceptable for any service provider and as a customer I would not encourage or recommend their service to anyone. more

I live in Dallas but planned to have my wedding in Houston. When I began calling around I was ASTONISHED to hear prices like $100 and $150 dollars to steam and press my dress. I was told that because the dress was ""big""and had hand beading that I would not find a better price. The price only went up when I told them that I could only drop off the dress the Thursday before the Saturday wedding! Ronnie not only had my dress ready Saturday morning, he did it for $25.00! He even offered me a great deal on my bride's maid dress AND any cleaning of them after the wedding! RONNIE TO THE RESCUE! more

When wearing a new white silk blouse for the first time, I spilled red wine all down the front of it. I was unable to get to the dry cleaners until five days later. A-1 turned a shirt with a nightmare of a stain into something that looked brand new. I was beyond impressed--I thought my blouse was unsalvageable. I would recommend them to ANYONE! I've been a recent convert to A-1 after nightmarish experience with Pilgrim Cleaners. They ruined my practically new Ann Taylor's jacket in 2008 and still has not resolve the issue until today. Ronak was awesome with his service and quotes. My ""white"" cloth actually came out to be ""white"" and stains were always removed. He is SUPER polite and friendly. Ask for Ronak when you call. I called to get a price to dry clean my wedding dress. She would not give me a quote & eventhough I was polite in asking her, she hung up on me. I called back & she never answered. I then drove 20 minutes to the cleaners (trusting the City Search reviews more than her rudeness). When I arrived, she said the person to give me the quote had just left, but I could leave my dress. I told her I lived far & didn't want to do that; she was rude again. I'm now beginning to wonder if she typed the City Search positive reviews because I cannot imagine a store getting so many positive reviews when it's not worth going. more

Convenient location and hours were the initial draw to this dry cleaners, however, the friendly service was a nice perk! Their prices are competetive and fair. After moving to a new area of town, I was on the search for a new dry cleaners that could handle my last minute drop offs and had good hours. This is the one! They not only do a great job on my clothes, but service is always courteous and smiling! more

I love walking into A-1 and being greeted by my first name, and it has been this way since the first visit. The service is excellent, quick, and prices are affordable. Your laundry will always be done when they tell you it will be. I have always gotten my laundry back no matter how long it took me to pick it up and it is always undamaged and clean!
