Went looking for a breastfeeding garment and got laughed at. 3/22/2011

I walked into the store looking for something called ' The Baby CUB '...i explained to the clerks that the other stores around town were sold out and i thought about checking here. They had NO idea what I was talking about. I explained it was something new on the market and that i assumed they would have it because it's what is flying off the shelves. Again, the clerk, who looked to be 16, had no idea. I asked if they were going to start carrying it along with the other breastfeeding cover they have, which is useless and she said..."" Um...i dunno..."" Now, one would think that she may have taken my number down or asked a senior member of staff...nope. They were truly not helpful in any way... more

inconsistent pricing 3/19/2010

I went in for a prenatal cradle. Online, it sells for $60 at their website, shipping is extra. In the store, it sells for $73. When I asked why the difference, the associate on the phone told me it has to do with shipping. that would make sense to me if online was more expensive, but not less. Online, the pricing breaks out as follows: Cons: inconsistent pricing more

Great store! 10/19/2008

This store is really wonderful for the attachment parenting set. It is great to see a store that sells baby slings and such a large amount of breastfeeding supplies in a place like Houston--not a place you typically think of as the attachment parenting capital of the USA. They are a bit pricey (what do you expect from Rice Village) but other than this small fact it is wonderful--I highly recommend a trip there if you are pregnant or have a baby! more

Wonderful store brings peace and sanity to a new mommy! 11/20/2007

When my son was 6 days old, my mother and I went into A Woman's Work for the first time. Sitting in the cozy, comfy nursing area with my newborn, I remember it being the first time I deeply breathed since before his birth! He is now 3 months old and we go back at least once every week! While I can run to Target by my home, I happily drive the 20 minutes from Pearland to make my purchase. While I might pay a dollar or two more, I also get knowledge about my product and if it truly is the best choice for myself and my son. (Well worth the extra buck!) The women who work there are friendly, patient and knowledgeable. After only a couple of visits, they knew my son and I by name. In a world of discount stores where personal service is non-existent, why would you want anything less at this crazy time?!? Pros: Friendly, incredibly knowledgeable more

Completely Ignored at this Exclusively Overpriced Store 10/17/2007

I went in last week for my first shopping trip for maternity clothes. I happened to walk in at the same time a familiar patron entered, so all the attention and greeting went to her. That is fine, but there were 4 employees in the store and not one even greeted me or even made eye contact. Had I been some vagrant off the street, I could understand this treatment. I was ready to spend a good amount of money for my needs. I even walked around the store, front to back, waiting for some type of acknowledgement. I will never go in there again and I will certainly discourage all of my present and future expectant friends to avoid wasting their time and money on such poor service. more
