8 Limbs is a leader in philanthropy and community 7/6/2009

8 Limbs Yoga Centers is a brilliant yoga studio. Besides from having fantastic teachers, Anne Phyfe-Palmer has created a true yogic community based on philanthropy, generosity, caring and love. 8 Limbs Yoga Centers was a major donor to the Equalityoga event on June 27th. Maygen McGrew of 8 Limbs was one of the lead instructors and Anne Phyfe-Palmer acted as an event advisory. With her support it was easy to engage other Seattle yoga studios. It's amazing to work with and practice in a studio that leads with it's values by creating loving and supportive community. This commitment ripples throughout the Seattle community. We are blessed to have this business in our city. Pros: Amazing instructors, amazing values based business Cons: none more

Best yoga in the city 4/28/2009

I was not a yoga person but was very curious about it. I signed up for the beginner series with Jenny about 3 years ago and now I am hooked. I have not taken a class I don't like. Douglas is definitely my favorite. 8 limbs is a non-competitive environment that provides a lot of stress relief after work. The gym is not for me and 8 limbs provides a way for me to get my exercise and calm my mind. I cannot recommend it enough! more

Excellent instructors, relaxing & meditative spot to enhance your mind/body and spirit in an urban setting 12/23/2006

8 Limbs is an oasis of goodness for the mind and body in the heart of Capitol Hill (their original and most popular location). The instructors are highly skilled, knowledgable, caring and nurturing. I've been practicing here for 2+ years and have grown immensely because of it. Pricing is average for occassional practitioners and a good deal for regulars (2+ times a week). Their new customer deal (2 months for $99) is a steal and will provide you enough time start to see the benefits. They have a fair number of instructors and class/time offerings at their three locations for you to sample and find your preferences. The Cap Hill location can tend to be a bit noisy from the street and neighbors, but it allows one to work on maintaining focus in the reality of a world with minor distractions all around you. Overall, the 8 Limbs team has created a relaxing, noncompetitive, non-pretentious environment for yoga students of all abilities. Highly Recommended. Pros: multiple locations, variety of classes, GREAT instructors, good pricing for regulars. Cons: 2+ years and no cons worth mentioning more

Yoga Nirvana 10/18/2006

I prefer practicing yoga at a yoga center, rather than the gym. It's expensive to pay for yoga classes in addition to monthly dues. However, the quality of the instruction is uniformly better at a yoga studio. And the students seem less competitive. I recommend buying your own mat, as it is more sanitary. more

relaxing! 11/11/2005

8 limbs yoga is a nice place to go. I have dropped in on a few classes and had a pretty good experience. Once I went on a weekend early afternoon and it was PACKED and i could not fully relax with that many people. My first class here the instructior was SO attentive to me and helping me correct myself a few times. The price is a bit steep but any yoga studio is. Overall, this is great place. more

8 Limbs is best yoga variety in town 10/20/2005

8 limbs offers the best variety of yoga in town and across town! They have classes throughout the day at all levels at the Capital Hill, Wedgewood and West Seattle locations! The instructors teach to all levels so meet everyones needs. Sometimes the classes are a little too crowded so if you are looking for individual attention this is not your place. PROS: best teachers in town CONS: sometimes a little too crowded, i.e. weekends more

Calm and relaxing atmosphere, kind staff. 7/14/2005

I've only taken two drop-in classes at this studio, but I was very impressed. I had a friend recommend it to me, and it is only a few blocks from my house. I picked a beginner class, and it was perfect! I thought it mught be too accelerated for me, but the instructor was very helpful in helping me with poses others were more familiar with. And the space is roomy but calm and cozy at the same time. Not to large of a class size too. PROS: Perfect size classes, kind and helpful instructors. CONS: Monthly membership seems prohibitively pricey to me. more

8 Limbs is great 3/14/2005

I've been going to 8 Limbs for about half a year and love it! I was not a very flexible person and while I loved going to yoga classes in my gym, it still intimidated me since I wasn't that flexible. Now that I've been going to 8 limbs about 3 times a week, I feel better, I am more flexible, and enjoy yoga classes. The teachers are very friendly and really "teach" the poses rather than lead the class. Pros: Good Class times, friendly staff, Apparatus provided Cons: Off street parking, some classes full more

Best Yoga in Seattle! 3/1/2005

I have sampled the yoga offering across the region and find the 8 Limbs instructors, studios, class variety, and level of challenge to be the best there is. Pros: Instructors, Challenging, Studio Feel Cons: Cost, Class Size more
