I eat Chinese food a lot from different restaurants and have found 888 to be one of best take out. I ordered chicken lo mein which had great quality chicken with great taste. more

All I can say is rude!!! The food is okay, actually great a few times, but the person who answers the telephone tries to get you off of the phone as soon as she can. The other night I told her I wanted to order for delivery and she took my order brusquely. I had not begun the next item, and she said ""OK- 30-40 minutes,"" ""Wait! I have more,"" I said. She took that order again in a very unpleasant manner and proceeded to get me off the phone. I said ""Do you know where I live?"" She said, ""OK, Where"" I told her the address and she said ""OK... be there in 30-40 minutes."" Click. I had to call back because she gave me no opportunity to provide payment information. more

Just plain awful... 4/22/2012

Poor quality meat- looks like skin and fat with a slimy chewy taste. Garlic sauce was something like molasses. Chefs look unwashed and the place is dirty. Looks like a slop shop but all would be forgiven if the food was palatable. Could not stomach my chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. Seems like they don't give a damn... might be the worst Chinese take out I've ever gotten. more

Raleigh worst Chinese Restruant 10/25/2011

This is by far the worst chinese food I've ever eaten. The fried rice was mussy and extremely over cooked. The wings were hard and greasy. It took nearly an hour for delivery. Save your time and money, go else where, or any where else but here. more

Honestly, I had not ordered from 888 in at least a year, perhaps longer. I normally order from China Court. However, I just ordered from 888, and the man with whom I spoke on the phone was very polite -- exactly what I would expect from any person taking delivery orders. Perhaps I just called at the right time, or perhaps others have simply called at the wrong time. Or, perhaps, their service has improved since some of the previous reviewers ordered their food. more

we have been ordering from 888 for over a year now. we could tell the decline of food and service in the past couple months. this last time was too much, we got the wrong food on a delivery. then after the lady arguing with us on the phone, she sent the delivery guy back with the correct food. in the new food we found plenty of egg shell, when eggs are not part of the dish. pieces of plastic and some sort of weird clear goopy substance. we will no longer be ordering from 888. more

Very Rude & food not good 4/21/2010

I've ordered from 888 Chinese Take Out on several occasions and they delivered it to me. I called recently only to have the rude lady that answered the phone ask the delivery guy if he would deliver to me and he said no. The last couple of times I ordered (and they delivered it I might add) the food wasn't even worth it. I would not recommend 888 Chinese Take Out to anyone. There's a Chinese restaurant on every corner these days and I'll bypass this one going forward. more

Healthy Alternatives 2/11/2010

I have been eating take out orders at this restaurant for years and have always had good food. In addition, the restaurant offers healthy choices like steamed brown rice and steamed vegetables. This is unusual for Chinese food. The brown rice is delicious, better than what I can make at home. Many of my friends have had meals here with me, and we've always been satisfied. I have never tried their delivery service. more

Great for delivery and the brown rice... 11/20/2008

This chinese restaurant offers all your regulars, but they do a great job on their ""diet specials"". I get the D9 which is steamed veggies, chicken, shrimp and scallops. It comes with a sauce(I'm not a fan), but all it needs is a little salt and pepper and a splash of hot sauce. It's always consistent and never greasy. We live close, so when we order it is delivered in 20 minutes or less. What I like is the fact that they have real brown rice, not white rice with soy sauce. It's always plump and chewy, just make a request for brown rice, because they don't ask! Pros: Great diet options and brown rice. Fast delivery. Cons: Unsure of how typical chinese dishes fare... more

BEWARE___Short -rude-sloooow delivery and customer noservice 11/16/2008

we have ordered delivery from 888 several times ... the last 2 times , it took an hour a half to get my order. i had to call both times , no apology or even a sorry for the delay . the last time , even after waiting my order was short an egg roll , portions were tiny , and my mongolian beef had barely any beef . i called the next day and asked to speak to a manager or owner , an was not allowed to speak with them . i explained my issues , and all they would offer me was 3 dollars off my next order . Horrible way to handle an unhappy customer ... BEWARE of this restaurant !!! Cons: slow service , skimpy portions , unfriendly order taker , no manager available more

Good service, bad food 4/3/2007

For the life of me, I don't know why I agreed to eat here with a friend. The service was friendly and efficient. The food, though. Wow. I ate about 1/3 of it and tossed the rest away. It lacked any subtlety and care in preparation. Stick with your favorites when it comes to Chinese... these new quick-n-easy places don't add anything to the restaurant-scape of the Triangle. Good average Chinese 3/2/2007

We've only ordered from there once I think, but the food is your basic average chinese fare. Portion sizes are large. I've had better, but this was pretty good for delivery. The service was very good and the delivery was fast. Prices were probably standard. I'd rate it pretty good overall, but I think I would keep looking for the wow factor Chinese delivery. Pros: Super fast delivery on a weekend night, order-taker spoke good English so easy to understand Cons: Just average, no big discovery here more

Great Food and Servie 1/22/2007

The food is excellent tasting and always fresh tasting. I order all the time. Mostly delivery. Delivered food comes steaming hot and fresh. The service is also excellent. What I also love is, that even when I go in for takeout people are always complimenting the owners and chefs and saying how much they like it and travel a long distance to come get food from here because it is the best around. I agree. more
