Great product, great service 12/31/2010

42nd Street Photo had the best price for my camera, which was the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. No tax and free shipping made it a great deal. Someone from the store called me to confirm my order and offer me a few more products. The camera shipped promptly and came earlier than I was expecting. I will definitely return to 42nd Street Photo to buy anything else I need for my camera. I recommend them highly. more

Fast and costumer friendly 12/30/2010

I really appreciated the amount of contact I was able to have with the staff at 42nd street photo. When I had questions about my order during the weekend and didn't feel that it was worth a phone call, I could simply send a quick message to the staff and I would get a response, thanks for that. I also was surprised at the price of the camera itself, being much lower than all of the others out there available online. Big plus. I was surprised at how fast you guys got the camera to me, 3 days from when it was shipped is awesome. Overall a great buying experience. So, I was shopping around for a nice zoom lens for my wife so that she could take better pics of the kids when they're playing sports. As we're both amateurs, I wasn't exactly sure what I needed. I called another shop, and all they were interested in was making me feel like an idiot and trying to sell me something way out of the price range I mentioned. I called 42nd Street, which is where I bought my wife's Canon in the first place, and they were of coure EXTREMELY helpful, and more than willing to share their knowledge while taking into account my specific needs. Not sure why I even bothered to call the other shop in the first place -- 42nd Street is THE go-to place for exceptional customer service and top-notch product. R Daw Atlanta, GA more

Great Prices, fast shipping. 12/29/2010

Good: 42nd Street had the absolute best price on both the DSLR and video cameras I was shopping for. I was surprised about how fast my order was filled due to a severe snow storm which had hit NYC two days prior.. Bad: 42nd Street seems to have a policy of trying to up sell you after the sale. I ordered online and declined extra memory, spare batteries, extended warranty, etc. I was contacted by phone to "verify the shipping address" and was offered some "great deals" spare batteries. I declined and they sweetened the pot by reducing the offer by $30. I bit off and immediately was offered memory cards at a discount. When I explained I was already exceeding my budget, the sales rep thanked me and let it go at that.. Improvements: This transaction was pretty painless. No improvements necessary.. Other: One of the items I ordered was listed as Red but arrived in Blue. No big deal for me but some may have been disappointed.. more

Good: The customer service person who called me about my order was friendly and knowledgeable. And I received the camera quickly, critical as it was a Christmas gift. Overall, I would be inclined to place an order with this retailer again.. Bad: I ordered online. Found the camera I was looking for, placed the order and my credit card was charged. A couple of days later someone from the store called and said that camera was discontinued and not available but I could buy the newer model. I ended up buying the newer model but felt a little bit like it was a bait and switch situation. Newer model was more expensive than the one I originally ordered, however pricing was inline with pricing at other retailers.. more

I purchased this camera online and received a call the next day. The employee informed me that the camera did not come with a memory card and made some suggestions. He patiently waited on the phone with me while I researched what he was suggesting. I received a memory card at a really great price. We love the camera. It was the lowest price we could find. I would highly recommend 42nd Street Photo. more

Just received my Panasonic DMC-FZ40K Digital Camera for Christmas. WOW.what a camera.The picture quality of this 14.1 megapixel/25mm ultra wide-angle/24X optical zoom camera is totally awesome for a camera in this price range. I am also impressed with the ease of operation especially for a novice like me.Getting ready for our annual trip to Maui & can't wait to put this baby to work for me. more

Excellect price, slow shipping. 12/24/2010

At first, I booked the camera online, and after 3 days, it still haven't been shipped and I contact the stuff via phone, they were very impatient with my question. On the fourth day of my order, the status wasn't change so I added $25 dollars for expedited shipping. When I received my camera, I was shocked because the box shows the NEX-5 is with 2 lenses. After I opened, it only with one lens, I realized why the price of the camera is lower compared with other stores. The camera works quite well, the only thing that I most satisfied is the lower price. more

I had a good experience ordering from 42photo.com. The only issue was my order was held to see if I wanted to add signature confirmation to my package delivery. I said yes, but when the package was delivered by UPS it was left at my door with no signature obtained. UPS simply rang my door and ran. I live in an apartment complex and that is totally unsafe! Not 42photos fault, but you might want to take it up with UPS. more

Sony HDR-CX150R 16GB High Definition Handycam Camcorder 12/23/2010

Purchased this for my Daughter for her birthday/ I wanted to set it up and try it out before I gave it to her. To my surprise this was incredibly easy to set up and load to my computer. Took it outside and inside to shoot some footage and see the HD quality. Looked great on my Non-HD TV so I will have to say it probably will be awesome on a HDTV. Loved being able to take a picture while recording! I was so impressed I bought one for me. Merry Christmas Purchased mine from 42nd St. Photo on line at the best price I found. Needed it for Christmas morning they called confirmed the order and they got it to me in 2 days. Great Service, no hassle and no sales pressure when confirming the order. Good sales experience. more

Purchase of Sony HDR-XR550V 12/23/2010

We looked online for the best price on this unit and actually ordered one from a competitor. We were contacted by that vendor letting us know that the unit was "out of stock" but if wanted one we could have it for another $300 as part of a package. It was very apparent that something underhanded was in the works. After canceling we looked at 42nd St Photo online and we immediately impressed by the website and the price. We expected to order online and have very "cold online” experience. Much to our surprise we were contacted by a very knowledgeable and FRIENDLY sales agent, Robert, directly by phone. He recommended an extra battery with a sizeable rebate and we accepted. Because we had missed his first phone call and were delayed a day he upgraded our shipping for free. By that afternoon the unit and battery were shipped and in our hands 2 days later. That sale agent, Robert, is terrific and we definitely would recommend and use 42nd Street Photo again. more
