ı love this place... 10/1/2008

I've been here once...I got some sort of spicy seafood dish with 5 or 6 different types of seafood. They were really generous with the seafood (not just 2 shrimp in the whole seafood dish) and they're not afraid to get spicy! (I love spicy!) The prices are very good for the food, as well. I'd go again for sure. more

great food! 9/19/2008

I have been to this place probably over 20 times and it is great. It is a little off the beaten track but worth seeking out. Food fresh and the people who work and own it are very nice people. It is never really busy and it is a shame because it is totally worth it. Inexpensive, quiet, great food what else could you ask for! Great to go for lunch after a day long soho/noho/nolita shopping trip! Pros: great value Cons: location more

Highly recommended!Great food 8/10/2008

Last week we walked pass the restaurant by accident. Then my friends and I decided to give it a try. This is one of my all time favorite Thai places. Started with dumpling appetizer and spring rolls... tasty. Chicken fried rice was awesome. Pad Thai noodle was great . Surprised I can make spicy levels. The dishes here are not as oily as one would think. The food is always hot ,fresh and very tasteful. It really is the best Thai food I've ever eaten. Will order for delivery for sure! Can't wait to go back there and try other items on the menu! Pros: Great food, service, and prices more

THE WORST DELIVERY EVER! 6/16/2008

Whatever you do, do not ever order from this place for delivery. My delivery oder took one hour and 45 minutes and when i called to complain, saying that the delivery time was completely unacceptable, they did not do anything at all but made some dumb excuse after excuse. These people do not understand anything about customer service. They should've offered to comp my meal, instead they said that if the food was cold we can call to order again...Right, like I want to wait another two hours for my meal. UNACCEPTABLE service. lesson learned...I'll never eat here or order from here again...and I will pass that along to everyone I know. more

Look elsewhere for Thai. 5/9/2008

The service was spotty. The food was off. My soda tasted watered down. It was drafty and cold. Oh, and... i know I sound like an old person for saying this, but the music was too loud. I could hardly hear myself talk. more

Great Thai Great Service Great Prices 7/8/2007

Tucked away on tiny Lispenard St, around the corner from the R train, down the block from Pearl Paint is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I almost don't want to tell you about it and keep it all to myself. The food is fresh, piping hot and made to your preferred spice level. I had the steamed dumplings and pineapple fried rice with chicken. I don't like anything too spicy and this was perfectly mild and full of flavor, just like I wanted. They also have a great sake list, served cool with a stick of cucumber. Yummy and friendly service all around. The Asian inspired decor is classy but homey and super clean. I'll definitely be back with friends. Pros: fresh, flavorful food, friendly service, full bar, romantic or relaxing ambience. Cons: Lispenard St. can be a bit creepy at night. 35 is closer to Church St, walk from that end. more

Great Thai comes to TriBeCa! 2/24/2007

We stumbled on this gem of a restaurant after shopping at Pearl Art stores the other day. After checking out the home store behind the main store, my boyfriend and I had worked up an appetite and spotted this interesting looking restaurant across the street. Expecting it to be too expensive we thought we would peak at the menu.\r \r The prices were reasonable and selection fantastic! Took us a long time to figure out what to eat - a unique spin on old favorites (Scallops, a wide array of different sauces, etc.) made us realize what a great place this is! The waitstaff was SUPER friendly and willing to answer our questions. 35 surprised us both with having some nice charm and a clean setting. The food - did I mention how good it was? - was very presentable and my boyfriend (a spicy nut!) gave the spice-level two thumbs up; while I beng of a more mild palet was also thrilled with my food.\r \r We will be going back there again - and I definately think if you like Thai - you will love 35! Pros: Interesting choices to make old favorites like new again! Cons: Tucked away so it might be hard to miss. more

Level Five Spicy (on a scale of one to four) 1/7/2007

Tucked behind the fabled Pearl Paint (as in BEHIND. on Lispenard St.), is a little gem much like finding a real Rolex off of Canal Street for 15 bucks. A real one. With diamonds in it and everything.\r As in bling.\r The food was, to be brief as I've only 1,700 characters remaining, beyond cusswords-amazing.\r Consider the average New-Yorkish eater who tends to pluck at the plate and leave a massive heap of be-picked sustinance to then converse about how absolutely stuffed the New-Yorkish eater is after the few bites it managed to choke down.\r Not here.\r It just isn't possible. The fare is far too tasty and one would only wish to stuff the mouth full of nummy goodness rather than silly conversation.\r Super-reasonably priced ( 'cus see me n' my crew was rollin' five deep all up in some drinks, appetizzles and entrees an' them bills only be one Benji. knaw-mean?) so it won't break your wallet like those knockoff Louis Vuitton bags around the corner.\r The atmosphere was calm and cozy, but not nunnery-calm and cozy. The space was small-ish but suprisingly not loud/noisy, though ours and the other tables were engaged in heated non-nunnery topics. \r (Like the nearby freakish At&t building - which may be a nunnery, who knows. It hasn't any windows...)\r On this particular eve there was only one lady serving the room. No small task as a party of 12-or so rolled in, hungry as the dickens. She didn't break a sweat and tended to us and our tastebuds promptly and courteously. \r The kind lady was concerned about our abilities to handle spicy foods and has a handy mental 1-to-5 spicy-hotness scale to help talk you down from any unnecessary masochism. My group stayed at the 3-and-under mark and were adequately mouth-spanked by spice for the amount of pleasure we received from our meals.\r \r I'd go again and again. And again.\r And if you go to 35 - holler, cause I'll come too.\r \r -Brina\r Signed up on Citysearch just to write this review. Pros: Can everything be a pro? Off the beaten path, Easy access to ACE, 123, NRW, JMZ, Neat area, GREAT SERVICE, Great food and selection, Great prices, Great great great Cons: I'll be there a lot. so if you can't stand me - i'm sorry. more

Great Thai Food! 1/4/2007

I highly recommend this place. It's definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in the city and an extremely good find as people don't know it well yet. I've been to 2 dozen+ Thai places and this is now my favorite after I discovered it. Highly recommend - vegetable spring rolls, steamed dumplings, various curry dishes, pineapple fried rice, pad thai, seafood stirfry, whole fish, pineapple ice cream served in a baby pineapple, fried banana dessert, etc. They also have a few dishes that are non-Thai like ribs and sandwiches and those dishes are amazingly good too. The staff is very friendly and the place is cozy and nicely decorated. It's also reasonably priced. Pros: Really the best Thai food more
