Worst

I was here on Valentine's Day and was quite unimpressed. First of all there was a fixed menu of which we were not informed of when making the reservation. Secondly, we felt like...

Terrible experience. Very disappointing 2/14/2010

We went for the Valentine's Day experience and boy was that a mistake. Right off the bat I cringed when I saw the pricing for the Pre-set menu was printed right at the top. I did not need my date to know how much this was costing. In the future, please don't. A true romantic takes the price tag off of nice things, not just cheap things. It was a five course meal and we had to ask for one of the first courses. They brought out one of the second courses with one of the first courses so I never got my crab cakes. The server was unattentive. All of the food was tasteless and cold. Even the tables next to us were asking for salt to put on everything. Not a good sign. On top of that, the only reason I booked this place for Valentines was for its lounge. They booked a private event in the lounge so we were expected to go to their other venue next door and pay a cover! After what I paid for the pre-set menu, I expected way more. I will not be going back. Pros: Nice decor. Strong drinks. Cons: Poor service. Poor food. more

$3 for 3 pieces - one of the better I have seen 12/15/2009

3 jumbo shrimp for $3 3 lamb chops with this fondue from gorgonzola... mmm..... 3 different dips for some pita bread... I used the tzatziki for the lamb... 3 sliders.... classic with cheese and the pickle and if you still crave caprese for the italian in you, they got that too on the $3 menu. Try it out!!! Have this in the lounge which is where we had it on the weekend then remain for the club!!! See you there... ! Pros: great deal... Cons: small stomach more

Great place for night life 12/12/2009

It was a Saturday night, international crowd... vibrant scene... quite a fun environment and will be going back... I have just researched them for NYE 2010 and it sounds like a fun time~! Pros: Music, eye catching design of the building and women Cons: it was a little tricky to find but fault of gps.. more

Different Kind of Place 12/11/2009

This restaurant has some awful reviews... we are people... if the president coul dbe yelped, etc. I am sure his reviews wouldn't be so popular always. People are tough beings to please... will everytime always be perfect, no, but as long as the place attempts to make it right, why make a bad review. This place did everything right... from the birthday celebration to the music and the vibe. Will return when back in town. Pros: Swanky!! Fun!! Lively!! Cons: Sour reviews more

Excellent Lounge 12/11/2009

Went last Saturday night and enjoyed the vibe, ambiance, music, etc. Went with a number of people as a pre-oliday celebration... fun night!! Recommended Highly! Pros: Music, Vibe, People Cons: Slightly pricey, tucked away more

Best Bar/Club I have been to in a while 12/11/2009

33 is highly reccomended. It's best if you go with a big group of friends. Awesome DJ's!! Get there early b/c the line usually gets really long. Pros: Music, Crowd, Fast Service Cons: The line can be long more

Awesome Time, Really Tasty Food 12/11/2009

I had dinner here last night. It was fantastic. The food was eclectic, different, and it tasted amazing. I've tried a few places in Boston and tried to compare them to NYC style menus and taste, but have rarely found anything this good. 33 Restaurant is awesome. After dinner ew had some drinks and lounged around. Highly recommended. Pros: Eclectic Menu more

Good Happy Hour!!! 7/2/2009

I went here last night for Happy Hour. The Mac&Chz = A- (AMAZING if you like garlic), Mediterranean Hummus Plate = B (you can't really mess up pita and hummus). These snack are a GREAT deal for $3!! The drinks are pricey, $9 was the cheapest glass of wine or $14 for a martini. The ambiance is very chic, with the was and bar changing color , due to lighting, every 5 minutes. There were very few customers though, but it was a rainy Wednesday at 6 :30 pm so I don't know if that's really standard. -Boston's Frugal Feaster Pros: Awesome Bar Snacks and Ambiance Cons: Pricey drinks and not many customers more

STAY AWAY 6/11/2009

The manager was just plain rude. Pros: nice lights Cons: poor management, poor service, bad attitude, all around bad more

Excellent place to eat 3/26/2009

I have been to this place several times and I definitely can say that this is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. You can't go wrong Pros: food is great, good location Cons: No parking more

Terrible evening at 33 3/5/2009

Feels like this place has become too trendy for it's own good. Waited 1 hour 45 minutes for our table. Were told several times that they were setting our table only to wait another 45 minutes. Finally when we were seated we were put directly in the line of the front door (on a January night when it was 20 degrees out). When we complained, the ma??tre de was unsympathetic and say that it wasn't his fault - the restaurant was simply too popular. Unbelievable. Will not go back. more

fun outdoor deck 3/5/2009

Nice atmosphere with a nice short menu. I recommend the martinis and sit outside on a summer day! It's a bit pricey, so be ready to spend about $100 for two. Pros: Good outdoor seating and martinis Cons: pricey more

hahaha 2/21/2009

after reading the review on this site me and my friends figured that this place was a great place to go.... boy was i wrong. we had made reservations and we were seated an hour after our reservation time... and to make things worse by the time we got served our food it was 11 at night and they had already dimmed the lights to the point where i couldnt even see my food, and started playing music so loud that we could not hear ourselves talk let alone to one another. the service was nothing special compaired to wat we paid and the drinks were not very good either... i was paying 12 a drink and i was not getting any alcohol in them... i would have to say the only thing that was good was the food...but it was hard to even enjoy that considering it was so loud and our table kept getting bumped by passer by's... and another thing the menu has very little to choose from and by the the we were seated and they came to take our order some of the stuff on the menu wasnt even available because of how late it was... all in all it was probably the biggest waste of time and money... i would have gotten better service at burgerking or wendys..... more

sooo romantic!! 1/28/2009

33 must be one of the most romanctic spots in Boston. dining there w/ my bf on our anniversary was a perfect evening. We started off by splitting a pitcher of the ""white passion"" sangria. We shared two entrees, the potato ravioli and the shrimp sebastian. Both meals were absoulutely delicious. Our waitress was great, attentive, but not overly attentive in that way that can be intrusive. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion, so intimate, at times we felt like we were the only ones in there (we weren't though, it was very busy). We will definitly go back! Pros: romantic, menu, ambience more

Great Food 1/21/2009

Looks good, Staff were very friendly and the food came out so fast!!! I'll be back for sure! Thanks guys Pros: Best Croisant more

seems like the bar staff has too much ""fun"" 1/20/2009

I know those that work in bars like to party, but they should be a little more discreet. Like the petite Asian gal with lots of eye liner who totally had white powder around her nostril when she was serving us martinis. Her and the blondish bartender were pretty jittery and not very attentive, joking around all night and being obnoxiously flirty with some of the patrons. Pros: nice decor? Cons: terrible bartenders more

Great Prix Fixe Meal and Waitress!!!! 12/9/2008

Having found out through a friend that 33 offers a prix fixe menu all the time, I went to check it out. For $33 a person my friends and I had a really great meal. The main course was roasted duck legs, which I thought were excellent, but my vegetarian friend was less than excited about, our waitress (who was awesome!) understood my friend?s dilemma and was more than happy to substitute the duck for the potato ravioli option. Pros: service, good for vegetarians, value, ambience, more

This place was smoking... 12/2/2008

I've been to 33 quite a bit living in the area, but this last time I was served this delicious shot from the always more then helpful bar staff. The shot was smoking and was made with some citrus liquor called Ty Ku. I'm pretty sure it was called a Smoking Ty Ku Bamboo shot, one of the newer signature drinks I guess. Needless to say it was an experience. The theatrics matched the shot perfect, looked great and tasted better. I need to find some of that Ty Ku stuff. Oh yeah, and the bottle lights up when the bartender is holding it. Pretty cool. more
