Editorial review from Citysearch 1/24/2013

One 20 salon has returned; the same lovely decor, but now on the ground floor of the Imperial Gardens on James St. Easy parking, convenient location from downtown or the east side. Be sure to make time to eat at the deli, Street Eats, down the hall. Tom Green has been cutting my hair for 20 years, and my college-age daughter's for 5 years. We'd follow him anywhere! more

Great Salon, friendly, fun atmosphere, professional products and the best colorist in town! 1/16/2013

Love the new location.. free parking and a great relaxing environment. Denise has been my stylist for several years and she is incredible! Tell her what your looking for and she intuitively knows what to do! My hair has never been so healthy and I love the way she has brought me back to my natural color... never thought I could do it!! If you're looking for a new stylist she's your girl... or if your just not happy with what your hair looks like go see her! I promise you she is the very best. Cons: Downtown parking -- head out early! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/15/2013

Love the ONE 20 Salon and there staff!!! Always pleasent and upbeat when going in there. Felicia is a great stylist and I have never had any complaints about the work she does on my hair. Everytime I have it done I get so many complments on my hair and everyone wants to get there hair done there too. If you are looking for a great place to get your hair done I highly recommend The ONE 20 Salon. And now there new location is so much easier to get to. more

Horrible Salon 2/2/2010

I thought Karin had been doing an okay job cutting my hair. She just typically trimmed it, but this past time I asked her to dust the bottoms and layer the rest. She cut 3 inches off the bottom and did not blend the layers. It looked terrible! I had to have another hairdresser fix what she messed up and now my hair is super short. I will NEVER go back to this place. Karin is actually leaving 120 and opening a place in Fayetteville called Rose & Co. Only go there if you want your hair butchered! Pros: Nothing positive to say about this place Cons: Karin can't cut hair more

Understanding this ""review"" process.. 12/18/2009

I was sent to this site . I am disgusted by this review of Kristi and her salon, Artistry. She is a talented colorist and cutter. The fact that technology such as the internet can be used to harm someone and/ or their lively hood is something to rethink. This review is only mean spirited. I now know why I don't utilize this review site. karin Vladimer the one 20 salon more

I recently went to ""Artistry in Hanover"" currently owned by Kristi Bittetti, formally of ""120 Salon"" and to say I had a horrible experience would be giving Kristi, her 'business' and the staff more credit than they deserve. Kristi runs a disreputable establishment that I would NEVER recommend to ANYONE. Not only is their work poor (to say the least) but their customer service is appalling!! The staff is rude and if you are a first time customer, they make you feel incredibly unwelcome. Kristi has absolutely NO integrity, she is incredibly arrogant and treats 1st time clients like children. I went there for the first time upon which my hair was butchered by Denise and Kristi was incredibly unprofessional, rude and quite frankly, out of line. NEVER go to this ""salon"" or deal with Kristi - she does not deserve to be in business. There are PLENTY of great salons in the Syracuse area - DO NOT waste your time or money at ""Aristry in Hanover"""" it is an utterly dishonorable business and Kristi is an even more untrustworthy owner. Cons: poor customer service, rude, unprofessional, seedy more

hmmmmm......who is really writing reviews about Kristi 4/23/2009

I find it very interesting that these negative reviews are coming in about me in April, when I left the 120 Salon in December. If you take the time to look at the other reviews, I would say 90% of them have all been good reviews. Then suddenly (after leaving the 120 salon) I get negative reviews. Again hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who is really writing these reviews. Also, I am sorry if I didn't contact all of my clients about the move. If I had misplaced some clients numbers, I was hoping that they would have google searched me and found my new location. more

Bad color 4/22/2009

I went here a couple months ago and had some hilights. Kristi did them and they were ORANGE. I have dark hair and it's hard for me to find someone who can actually give me what I want. (not orange) In a long attempt to find somone I finally did at Liz Lanza's. I am not sure why people in Syracuse can't do what my new colorist made seem so easy..hmm. I don't recomment this place. If you want professional and expert service, try Jillian at Liz Lanza's! Pros: ick!!! more

Kristi was HORRIBLE... 4/18/2009

I went to Kristi here a few months back. Thank GOD she is gone. She absolutely butchered my hair. The color she did was OK but the cut looked like something Edward Scissorhands would do. I went back to the salon to see if they good fix it, they couldn't. Not sure what kind of shop they run around there, but it seems nobody knows what they are doing. Pros: ""kristi"" no longer works there more

Artistry in location, better 4/16/2009

I love my hairstylist, and when she left 120 to start her own place, ""Artistry in Hanover"", I wanted to give her a great review on Citysearch - but it seems that there is only this 120 salon listing, so I am going to post here... Anyway, Artistry is such a nice, fresh new place, and they also have great spa services, like a make-up artist on staff, and now they sell jewelry, and do mani/pedis too. I am going to definitely stick w/ them! Pros: perfect hair Cons: no citysearch listing? more

THANK YOU KARIN!! 4/6/2009

I have been a long time customer of the 120 salon. recently my stylist left without even telling me! Bill the receptionist was kind enough to fit me in with karin. more

Artistry in Hanover-123 E. Water St- best stylists moved! 3/30/2009

My hair was a mess. Long roots with old highlights, terrible cut, and even sections of missing hair that had been pulled out by badly removed extensions. About as bad as it gets. I went to Artistry in Hanover, and Kristi worked miracles. I actually had a new (fake) ponytail I had been wearing to camouflage the horrible cut, which almost matched the color of my hair, but not quite... Kristi was able to not only match my new highlights to my old ones, with no demarcation mark at all, but she added a second color so that my hair now perfectly matches the ponytail. On top of that, she somehow managed to give me a cute, fun haircut as well, so I can actually wear my hair down as well. I am from NYC and was very nervous about switching colorists, but I had seen Kristi's work at a Bare Minerals event they had in the spa, and I decided to give her a chance. Thank goodness there is a real, quality salon in Syracuse! And the price was so much better than NYC. I left totally satisfied. I know all of the other stylists seem to be constantly busy as well, and I am really excited to give their salon free reign over my hair as I grow it out again and keep the color beautiful. A++ Pros: Incredible cut & color, great price- so happy w/results, Cons: People need to go to Hanover Square more! more

120 WALTON STREET 2/23/2009

I was pleased with my visit at the 120 salon. the owner cut my hair and another stylist did my highlights. more

Bad Hair Flair & Atmosphere 2/15/2009

I recently located to this area and saw on the reviews this was the place to go. Unfortunately, my experience was less than good. I wanted a specific color and told the girl I wanted no warmth in my blonde. ( I pull brasiness) When she was done it was quite gold/orange. I figure someone with exceptional skills would know how to formulate a non-warm color. Not here anyway. She did try to correct it with something but it made it darker and non- matching to my ends. AHHHH. The other employees were standoffish and not helpful. It was a cold feeling. Not to mention parking was a mess. Luckily for me, I did find a place a few blocks away @ Liz Lanza's. I read their reviews as well and they were all great so I gave them a try. What a breath of fresh air. Perfection. Kudos to them. Salon 120....thumbs down. Pros: close to stores Cons: thumbs wayyyy down... under educated... over rated more

Great cut, friendly staff, nice atmosphere for a great price 1/22/2009

After moving to the Syracuse area in August, I was really wary about finding a new stylist. I had been going to the same stylist in Philadelphia for about 10 years. I also have long (mid-back), naturally curly hair (spiral ""Botticelli"" curls 0.5-1""), and did not want to sacrifice length nor have something awkward for my hair. Pros: Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, stylists who listen more

Kristi Fan 12/22/2008

I am a longtime 120 customer and Kristi client. I also just heard she's relocating in February 2009, to Artistry in Hanover salon located at 123 Water Street in Hanover Square. If you are looking to reach Krisit you can catch her there at 701-2767. more

Great color and cut 11/23/2008

After moving to the area months ago and searching high and low for someone to cut and color my hair, I have finally found the 120 Salon. I really like the dowtown, funky atmoshpere. I have never been happier with my hair or color than I am right now. There is a slight ""standoffish"" vibe from the staff (everyone except Bill). But, if you are there to get a great cut and color and not a lot of conversation, then you are in the right place. Pros: Great cut and color, funky downtown atmoshpere Cons: Little conversation, downtown parking more

best colorist in Syracuse 11/14/2008

If you?re looking for an inviting atmosphere, reasonable prices, and incredible results, the 120 Salon is for you. Particularly, Kristi is an extremely skilled colorist, whom I consider myself lucky to have found. (When I first moved to the area from California, I tried a few other salons, one of which turned my hair green and ruined the shirt I was wearing. Not such a good introduction to CNY). Kristi completely rehabilitated my hair?it looks natural, only better. For highlights, lowlights, etc. she?s amazing?and incidentally, she?s delightful too? more

Simply Overrated 8/20/2008

After moving to the Syracuse area from Washington DC, I was looking for a new salon and stylist to go to for all of my beauty needs. Starting with a basic haircut I went to 120 Salon and Kristi because of positive reviews and ratings but ended up highly disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderfully eclectic and comfy but the service was dismal. My appointment was on a weekday in the morning (NOT during a busy time) yet Kristi maintained a conversation with a previous client during my entire cut, barely speaking to me after we decided what she would do. The cut was average even though I told her to do whatever she thought it needed. As a first time client who was trying to find someone to consistently go to this experience helped to make the decision that 120 Salon and Kristi were not where I wanted to give my business. Pros: Fun and comfy atmosphere Cons: Customer service does not seem to be a priority more
