It's fun to stay at the YMCA! 4/22/2005

The Greenpoint Y is a gem. Its clean, well-maintained facilities include a pool and a weight room with assorted machines, and it offers all kinds of classes—yoga, tai chi, pilates, aerobics, and more, plus a whole kids’ program with dance, swimming, and summer camp sessions. The best part is that a monthly membership of $40 allows you to sign up for as many classes as you can fit into your schedule, so that the more you take, the cheaper it works out per class. Even at just one weekly yoga class, though, say, it’s less expensive than pretty much anywhere else, and the atmosphere is relaxed and down-to-earth. Also, if you have visitors coming into town, you can send them to stay here guilt-free—the rooms are basic but perfectly nice, and a real bargain. The Village People weren’t kidding around. more
