What an amazing experience! Judi did fantastic work on my wedding dress and it fit like a glove after only one fitting. I couldn't believe how little she charged me for her amazing work. Everything about this experience was perfect! She even gave me some great tips on how to wash a borrowed veil that was of sentimental value for me to wear on my wedding day and the veil came out good as new. I was recommended by a friend and the Seamstress did a great job on my gown and on my bridesmaids' dresses. Our wedding was somewhat short notice so I was so happy that Judi didn't mind the short schedule. I highly recommend her work and will definitely use her again! more

My experience was not good at all to say the least. My dress looked incomplete (I was told that she did exactly what I asked for) and I was shocked at the end when I was given a hand written ticket that she scribbled $500 on. The shock came because I specifically asked her how much this would be on our first visit and that I needed to budget for it and she advised it would be about $200. She advised she could not take up the hem because of my ""monthly friend"" so that I needed to come back a second time when I was not bloated. When I came back the dress looked very incomplete and she agreed, so it needed to be fixed. The third and final time I came I still was not happy with the dress but at 4 days till my wedding what else could I do. Then I was popped with the bill and was in shock. I don't expect someone to work for free but I do expect someone to have the morals and business ethics to advise you when your original verbal quote is more than double before you walk out to pay. I think the other thing that bothers me about this situation is that I attended design school and dealt with many seamstresses, when you create a design or tell them what you want and it will not look complete they need to tell you, as that is part of their job and skill. I ended up going to a friend's mom that is an amazing Parisian seamstress. She purchased beautiful fabric and recreated the entire back of the dress. It was stunning and the dress of my dreams! more

I was referred to The Seamstress threw a friend of the family, and I must say I could not have asked for a better recommendation. Judy at The Seamstress truly made my wedding complete. She was able to take my vision of a princess wedding dress and approach it in a tactful, skillful, manner. The result was my dream dress, that fit like a glove. Judy was very communicative with me threw out the whole process of making my dress. I recommend her to all. I am sorry that the winter park bride had such a night mare experience...I understand that having a wedding and getting your dress custom made can be very stressful and stress effects certain individuals differently. Our family wedding dress and attendants turned out wonderfully. Originially the bride wanted a fabric that just would not have been as flattering. Judi gave her a suggestion of fabric that rested wonderfully on her body and was very flattering. more

It's interesting,Audrey, how your posts change. Now I had no mirror to see your back, but you had a picture your mother took of the back of the dress on March 29. Now the lace was $900, before it was $1025. OH! You forgot to mention that you chose and purchased your own lace. Now I didn't make the dress like the picture, but you had the dress on 9 times, and sent me an email with a picture of you in the dress, full front and back, with you smiling. In October 2009 I commissioned Judi of The Seamstress to make my wedding gown. I bought my own lace fabric and she assured me she could make the gown just like the picture I showed her. Not only did she not make the gown like the picture, but she made a gown with crooked seams, an exposed zipper and an array of other problems (included changes I did not approve). I expressed my concerns time and again over the six months it took her to make my dress. She told me two weeks before my wedding that it was ""too late"" to fix the dress. I literally had to have my dress re-built by another woman (thereby proving it was not too late, she just refused to do the work). She also refused to provide me any compensation and charged me a full $1800.00 for the dress (not including the $900 I spent on the lace). Judi has no mirror in her shop so that you can see the back of your dress. I noticed several ADDITIONAL problems after taking my dress elsewhere when I could finally see the back! I implore you, do not hire this woman. Spend less for better work elsewhere. Pros: N/A Cons: Rude staff, lack of skill, inadequate set-up more

I went to Seamstress, Inc. to get a mother of the groom dress altered. It needed extensive alterations, and hemming. I didn't know if it was even do-able. The result was astounding. It fit like it had been made for me. I had heard they ""weren't cheap"", but I found the price to be very reasonable - especially for such a good job. And there's more. My daughter, who was a bridesmaid, arrived in town right before the wedding. Her dress didn't fit at all. The day before the wedding we frantically called the store. They got her in, fitted the dress, and we picked it up the next morning - just in time for the wedding. The result was perfect. The charge was very reasonable - nothing extra for the rush job. Well what words can I say about Judi and her staff. I had a wedding in less than a week, and the bridal shop i purchased (alfred Angelo) ruined my dress with respect to its alterations and they put a black mark on the back similiar to a sharpie. I took my dress to judi, and she had it fit perfectly and even got the stain out with three days to spair. I now take everything I need altered to her. thank you for everything judi. I am so glad that I took the advice of the many brides who recommended her. I took my silk Reem Acra wedding gown to Judi and she did an amazing job making it fit like a glove. I got so many compliments on my dress. If you have an expensive gown and want it to fit perfectly Judi is the only way to go! I was comfortable all day long. She even did our flowergirl dress and it was perfect as well. What a sweet and attentive woman. When you are planning your wedding the dress is one of the most exciting and stressfull parts, her expertise and easy-going nature completely puts you at ease. It is worth any price to have someone you can trust and depend on with your most important outfit ever.
