This is a really neat to visit. You walk into an enclosed outdoorsy area where you see tons of different butterflys EVERYWHERE. It is really beautiful seeing them fly around and they are all so different looking. Adults and kids should both enjoy this. The only thing that is a little disturbing is the large amount of dead butterly bodies that are laying around. There is also an indoor area that has tons of caged insects. Like weird looking cockroaches and unique spiders. They also let you hold a taratula if you are brave enough. more

Not as good as I had expected 8/7/2005

I took my toddler here expecting nice exhibits and lots of butterflies, but was rather disappointed. The museum is much smaller than I expected and just not all that inspiring. There's a bug room (where you can actually pet a tarantula!) and then there was a room full of large-scale models of bugs, which was kind of neat. The butterflies are kept in an enclosed area that you can walk through. It's very nice with little bridges and a rocky pathway. However, strollers were not allowed in there and my child who had just learned to walk had a hard time. He ended up walking off the path and falling into a big mud puddle. All in all, we didn't see that many butterflies and I left feeling like, "That was it?" I will admit that it's probably a better outing if you have older children. more
